Different user communities have different levels of access on the CSIRO Data Access Portal

The general public does not need to sign in to the CSIRO DAP to access the various publicly available collections.

There are however many collections on the DAP that are restricted to certain user communities. Users that belong to these communities are required to sign in to the DAP to access restricted collections

The four different user communities that the DAP supports are

Restricted collections

The collections that appear with a padlock icon along with the collection type are restricted collections

These collections have publicly accessible metadata but the access to collection files is limited to specific users.

The restrictions are put in place by the collection owner/depositor.
